School History
Established on 4 January 1999, East Spring Primary School was founded to serve the eastern sector of Tampines New Town. The school began with 400 pupils and 15 teachers, operating temporarily at Qiaonan Primary School before moving to its current premises on 22 March 1999. It was officially opened on 3 August 2001 by Dr Aline Wong, then Senior Minister of State for Education and Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC.
Committed to holistic education, the school places strong emphasis on character development, innovation and creativity. In 2003, the school was privileged to host the Zone’s Centre of Excellence for Science, known as the Science Exploria. During that period, it contributed to the advancement of inquiry-based Science learning within the zone.
In 2006, the school participated in the pilot Flexible Infrastructure (FlexSI) Scheme, transforming its learning environment through projects such as the Multi-disciplinary Learning Trail (Spring Trail) and the Multi-Use Canteen (Spring Hub), further strengthening its focus on experiential learning.
In 2024, East Spring Primary School celebrated its 25th Anniversary. From its modest beginnings, the school has grown into a vibrant learning community committed to nurturing students with strong values and 21st Century Competencies. Anchored in its core values, the school continues to develop future-ready learners who contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
